 International Energy Agency-Annex 18

 Welcome

The overall goal of Annex 18 is to provide information about hydrogen integration into society around the world. Three specific objectives of Subtasks are as follows:

1. Subtask A provides data and analysis to the hydrogen community in the form of inventory databases or compiled summaries,
2. Subtask B uses modeling and analysis tools to evaluate hydrogen demonstration projects, or to guide their design and assessment, and to validate models and assumptions, and
3. Subtask C synthesizes the lessons learned from case studies and projects, and performs trend analysis based on exploration of hydrogen work from earlier dates to the present.

Tasks underway in Annex 18 include: developing summaries of national hydrogen documents, links, organizations, and projects Information Bases including HySociety's Technology Information Base gracefully provided to the general public

  • case studies of a number of these systems have been written and are publicly available by using the link on this site,
  • creation of a hydrogen production and resources database to help answer the question: Where Will the Hydrogen Come From?
  • integrated hydrogen demonstration projects in 16 countries are being evaluated; they focus on hydrogen fueling stations and renewable power stations.
